Page 1 of 2 Related storiesWhile it looks very much a standard USB ‘thumb-sized’ memory drive, even coming with a cap that unveils a standard USB connection (meaning it needs no additional cables to charge or transfer music), the big question for Creative is whether anyone will be interested enough to buy one. That’s because all mp3 competitors compete with Apple’s style, even though they come with additional features no iPod claims as standard, but this has been the case for some years now, with Apple still wearing the mp3 player sales crown. The MuVo T200 comes with 4GB of memory at AUD $149.95, making it $50 cheaper than the 4GB iPod Nano, but while the Nano can play video, the MuVo’s screen is far too small to support such a feature. It’s also AUD $60 more expensive than the as-yet unavailable 2GB iPod Shuffle but has double the memory. Creative claim the ability to store 2000 songs on the 4GB of space, while Apple only claim 1000, but that’s because the MuVo can play 64kbps songs stored in WMA format. Still, as most people will use much higher quality mp3 files, the 2000 song storage capability is just there for marketing purposes, as it has been for years with WMA capable devices. So, what other features have Creative included in an attempt to lure you away from Apple’s range of iPods? Please read onto page 2. |
