Hesseldahl then said that: “However I’m also hearing that the situation is fluid, and a lot of last-minute decisions are close to being made about what precisely will or will not be disclosed next week, if anything. There are, apparently, a lot of moving parts to something this complex”.

Of course we’re going to find out in the next few days whether Apple will deliver their SDK on time, or not.

We could also find out more about Adobe’s Flash ever appearing on the iPhone, something Steve Jobs promised, along with the potential for a new iPhone firmware (whatever number it is assigned) – something else that, if true, may also be behind the SDK’s predicted delay.

After all, work on the iPhone's OS X is what delayed Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 from coming to market when originally promised.

Work on a new firmware version (which is likely happening anyway) could well be the reason behind the delay, especially if Steve Jobs wants to deliver an even bigger news punch (and punch in the face of competitors), while gaining maximum news value from the day.

So, brace yourselves for a lot of iPhone news about the SDK and all it entails, or a lot of iPhone news about the confirmation of an SDK delay!
