5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
The report goes on to indicate that Microsoft sees the HD format battle being more of an online streaming or download service rather than a physical disc skirmish in the future. This is backed up by stories about content companies , such as Netflix looking at such services in the near future, and by both Microsoft and Sony’s respective IP TV and Play TV technologies. In fact, everybody (except, I imagine a number of Toshiba executives and consumers who had dolled out big bucks for HD DVD players) seem pretty relaxed about Blu-ray dominating the HD disc environment. Even Sony are quite amiable about a potential Blu-ray equipped Xbox 360, Smarthouse quoting Michael Ephraim the Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia/New Zealand;: "We would welcome Microsoft to the Blu-ray stable. In fact it is quite logical for them, as the PS3 has been very succesful in driving consumers to Blu-ray. In fact we believe that it has done more to win the format war than traditional Blu-ray player". Once again we see if Microsoft, who have placed themselves in the unenviably position to take on both Nintendo’s Wii (with the Xbox 360 Arcade) and the Sony PlayStation 3 head to demographic head, can shift hardware SKU’s to garner an even larger chunk of lucrative gaming market. |
