Broadband VoIP service provider, Freshtel has launched a $5.95 per
month plan for its service, with an included $6 of call credits. It
claims the plan is the cheapest on the market. Local calls and calls to
major cities are 10 cents untimed. Rival engin, which has just cut
rates for non-capital city calls in Australia to 10 cents untimed,
making all its calls to standard PSTN numbers in Australian 10 cents,
charges a minimum of $9.95 per month. Freshtel is somewhat reluctant to
reveal full tariff details: it requires you to register for a number on
its "Firefly" service, and download the software.
