Tech site Gearlive, first with the news of the 1.1.3 firmware update
for iPhone (which many thought was fake), has made a rather flashy
prediction: that Adobe’s Flash is about to arrive on the Apple
iPhone... at last!Featured Whitepaper
5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
Now Gearlive has predicted Flash support will arrive, quite possibly at the Feb 26 SDK event that will unleash the first official iPhone SDK kit for third party developers, giving those developers even more ways to create cool content and applications for the world’s best smartphone. Last time we heard from Gearlive, they had scooped the world with news of the 1.1.3 update for the iPhone, including videos of the ‘wiggly icons’ and all the rest 1.1.3 entailed. Many thought it was fake, but Gearlive was proven right, so there’s certainly a very good chance they’ve scooped the world yet again. As the Gearlive article notes, iPhone users have been without Flash support for 8 months, but ‘word’ has arrived from a ‘reliable source that Flash support’ is nearly here and will come ‘very, very soon’. They engage in a bit of their own speculation, suggesting that the iPhone SDK event would be the perfect time for the introduction of Flash support, and they say that their source is very ‘strong’ and that we can take their ‘word for it, okay?’ that Flash is coming. Presumably Flash will then also be available for the iPod Touch, which will keep everyone happy. So, what about the supposed issues holding Flash back from being included with the iPhone and iPod Touch in the first place? Please read onto page 2 for more... |
