Earlier, there was concern with a fabric defect on the right OMS (orbital maneuvering system) pod blanket. It  showed a small rip in the fabric of the thermal blanket covering the engine.

However, NASA analyzed the area and, at about 10:30 EST, gave its ok that the small fabric tear is not a problem for re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.
NASA stated that the astronauts need to take no further action on the area.

The astronauts said they already have “a lot on their plates” during the mission and were happy they didn’t need to go outside the space station to fix the blanket.

The crew on the space station can now concentrate on their mission, making sure the Columbus orbiting laboratory is ready to accommodate an international series of space experiments over the next many years.
