Webb Research Corporation (WRC) was founded in 1982 by Canadian American electrical engineer Douglas C. Webb.

Webb actively manages his company, which is located in the Falmouth Technology Park and employs about thirty employees.

The company develops and manufactures specialized instruments used in ocean research.

Webb worked for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute as a senior research specialist, at Woods Hole, Massachusetts, until his retirement.

At which time, he formed WRC.

Information about Slocum is found at the website Joshua Slocum Society.
