Security provider Websense has appointed Phil Vasic as its country manager for Australia and New Zealand.

He was previously general manager of sales for Australia and New Zealand at SurfControl until Websense acquired that company in 2007.

Vasic's IT career has also featured sales and management positions at Axient and Hewlett-Packard.

"Phil has an established track record leading security solution sales and channel operations, combined with stellar experience of growing business in Australia and New Zealand," said Timothy Lee, Websense's vice president APAC.

"His energy and drive will underpin our go-to-market strategy as we continue to deliver market-leading intelligent content protection solutions to our customers."
