Xbox 360 HD DVD Drive 48 percent price drop E-mail

Microsoft have announced a dramatic drop in the Xbox 360 add on HD DVD drive package.
You might call it desperation in the Blu-Ray vs HD DVD high definition disc format war, or you might call it a shrewd, strategic counter punch.

Whatever you call it, it is nice for the current hip pocket if you are banking on HD DVD winning the war – a prospect looking increasingly unlikely given recent press – or you are not too concerned at the long term prospects of a HD Disc format any way.

And at AU$129.95 (Australian and New Zealand regions RRP) it is not a huge investment in future proofing your choice anyway.

Microsoft have announced that effective immediately, they will be “working with individual retailers to have the new pricing available as soon as possible.”  for the HD DVD package that includes Peter Jacksons “King Kong” and a Xbox 360 HD DVD remote control.

AU$129.95 is a 48 percent drop from the AU$249.95 the drive previously cost
