So, Microsoft has finally launched SP1, Windows Server 2008 and more – products which will no doubt help fund the acquisition of Yahoo should the regulators in the US and the EU approve the merger. The only real disappointment? Announcing a product ‘today’, but making everyday consumers wait yet another month to get it! But even so, SP1 has ‘officially launched’, deflecting some of the attention away from the proposed Microsoft/Yahoo merger, and back to where it belongs: the quality (or otherwise) of Microsoft’s software. |
