5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
Both Nintendo and Sony are moving towards this already, and to compete the new Microsoft hand-held gaming device would need to tick the following feature boxes. Size – Somewhere around the DS size, definitely needs to be no larger than the current Slim PSP Software – Currently the DS has it all over the PSP, Microsoft's stable of developers should be able to pump out a library of sophisticated and compelling games in the same way the Xbox 360 library stacks up against the opposition. Connectivity – WiFi, BlueTooth, possibly PSTN and Voip and of course, the big one, compatibility and integration with big bro Xbox 360. Other features – Updatable firmware that gives expandable media functionality and the promise of even greater potential. And the most important, Price - One thing Sony have struggled with, was balancing features and build quality with an attractive price point. With Xbox Live enabling gaming across Xbox 360, Windows Vista and possibly other mobile devices the market is ripe for Microsoft to use its cross platform presence to further stamp the Xbox brand into gaming psyche. In fact, though news has gone quiet from the Microsoft bunker about such a device, or for that matter even games on the Zune, it is surely on the some Redmond drawing board as you read this. The only problem for Microsoft, is that it is possible that Redmond drawing board shows the next iteration of the DS within the confines of the Nintendo U.S headquaters. |
