Dell ties the knot with EqualLogic |

Dell's $US1.4 billion acquisition of SAN specialist EqualLogic has been completed, marking another step on the company's journey towards achieving similar status in the data centre as it enjoys in the corporate desktop and notebook markets.
While Dell has been a reseller of enterprise products such as EMC storage systems, it also has a history of absorbing storage companies that dates back to the 1999 acquisition of ConvergeNet Technologies.
And recent products such as the PowerEdge M1000e blade server are clearly in competition with models from companies that are more closely associated with the data centre such as HP and IBM.
