Communications minister, senator Helen Coonan, and deputy prime minister, Mark Vaile, will announce plans to "help future-proof telecommunications services in regional and rural Australia" while visiting the township of Kendall in Vaile's electorate of Lyne at 12.45 today, 4 August.
