"My first task for PDT is to set up a B2B exchange to improve NGO and UN PeaceKeeping force logistics operations," says Shreves. "That is an interesting project with the potential for significant impact on the way NGO dollars are spent. The brief calls for a launch in two countries initially, with at least 2 more in the queue. After that project gets going, we're looking at setting up knowledge management tools for the UN Peacekeeping forces. The brief is all Open Source." Shreves says the career move will allow him to be more immersed in technology and also enable hime to write more. He recently published a book on the Drupal CMS and hopes to do another title early next year. More about what Shreves is up to can be found on his personal site.
