Once again, Google yields a cornucopia of information. As before, you do not have to look long or hard to be regaled by the inspiring creativity of those who refuse to be constrained by anything but what they can conceive.

Popular hardware modifications include soldering in Bluetooth support inside the case. Some do this by sacrificing a USB port, whereas others have worked out how to add in an expansion card on select models with no loss of existing functionality.

One crafty person has installed a HSDPA 3G modem inside their Eee, drastically taking its mobility to the next level: if WiFi and Ethernet aren’t enough, a global-roaming equipped SIM card lets the EEE get online whenever, wherever. Another creative mod is the swapping of the screen for a car touch screen panel.

If you’re the hardware hacking type rest assured that you can take off the sticker underneath your ASUS without necessarily voiding your warranty. Check out ASUS’ press release on this matter for more information.

There's no end to what the ASUS Eee offers, and happily, the Internet delivers timely news. Be sure to keep checking out ITWire as we cover the Eee. Also, be sure to bookmark tnkgrl Mobile’s breakdown of the ASUS Eee motherboard as well as top-notch web sites eeeuser.comASUS Eee hacks and the periodic Engadget posting. Those sites continue to bring the best of the web and will surely inspire you with stories of what others are doing. Some will be crazy, some will be profound, but all will show the creativity and imagination of devoted Eee owners.

So, that’s the incredible and versatile ASUS Eee in a nutshell. It’s a dream machine for modders, hackers, professionals, newbies, students, children, the aged, road warriors, programmers and those who are just generally curious, geeky or interested. Do yourself a favour: get one and join the revolution.
