IOPES uses the open source Unstructured Information Management Architecture framework originally created by IBM and now under the wing of the Apache Software Foundation. When in use, the software automatically adjusts its demand for resources according to the overall load on the system. Like most desktop search products, IOPES pre-indexes the data for speedy retrieval. IOPES requires Lotus Notes 6.0 or later, or Outlook 2003 or later, along with either Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, or Firefox 1.5 or later. It runs on Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Server 2003. The software may be downloaded from IBM's alphaWorks site. |
