Apple describes the problem as an occasional "temporary suspension of keyboard input which can last a minute or longer."

Judging by user reports, the issue was related to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, but the arrival of 10.5.1 did not help.

MacBook, MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1 is supposed to do the job, but you'll need to be running 10.5.1 before you can install the update.

The easiest approach might be to let Software Update take care of the job for you unless you're managing a fleet of machines.
