The first to qualify for the grand final to be held in Berlin on May 2008 are Christian Lønhart (aged 15) from Copenhagen, Roland Császár (17) from Budapest, and Andries Smit (18) from The Hague. Smit also made the grand final in the previous competition. A further 29 berths in the final remain up for grabs. At stake is an invitation to the FIFA World Player Gala 2008 and $US20,000 cash prize. There is still time to enter other regional finals or to qualify through the online competition - see the FIWC web site. "The FIFA Interactive World Cup is a fantastic opportunity for all football fans to show off their skills and passion for the sport with FIFA 08," said Brazil and Barcelona star Ronaldinho. "It is a great tournament in which you have to train and work hard to succeed – just like in real football, so I invite all fans to register and enjoy this party of interactive football." |
