PCCW Global, the international services arm of Hong Kong telco, PCCW, and Telecom New Zealand International (TNZI) have signed an agreement on IP network interconnection that will increase network coverage for both carriers in the Asia Pacific.
The agreement will allow the two providers to interconnect their respective telecommunications networks to supply services to each other. TNZI general manager, Anthony Briscoe, said: "This agreement marks a significant milestone for the Telecom New Zealand Group to expand our IP network footprint to support mission-critical applications globally...Global IP VPN will allow customers to integrate easily with local IP services and meet requirements for international wide area networking services."

PCCW Global CEO, Marc Halbfinger said the move was part of the company's strategy to collaborate with global service providers to help customers in their migration to extended networks.{moscomment}
