New thin client hardware from Wyse provides expansion facilities normally associated only with conventional PCs.

The Wyse G class includes dual-display support as standard, with optional expansion to as many as six screens.

The hardware can also accommodate a hard disk, a DVD or CD drive, and a PCI card.

Optional TCX software provides rich multimedia support when used with Citrix Presentation Server or XenDesktop, Microsoft Terminal Services, or VMware virtual desktop environments.

"Wyse has always been a leader and innovator in thin computing and the G class continues this tradition," said Mick Hollison, vice president, product management at Citrix's desktop delivery group.

"The Wyse G class brings a new a level of sophistication to thin computing because it allows users to easily multitask while running multimedia applications that leverage our Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure. The Wyse G will be an ideal platform for our customers to plug and play with our newly announced Citrix XenDesktop virtual desktop solution."

The 'no management' G00 and the Windows XP Embedded based G90 are due to ship by the end of the year.
