Citrix Systems has appointed Bede Hackney as its application networking group manager.

"We are confident that Bede's appointment in this newly created position will deliver tremendous value and expertise to our channel partners and customers," said Rob Willis, area vice president for Citrix Australia and New Zealand.

Hackney was most recently Packeteer's country manager for Australia and New Zealand, a position he held following a period as a senior systems engineer. He has also worked as a senior network consultant at NetStar Networks Australia.

"With our products gaining momentum in Australia and New Zealand, I'm very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us, our partners and most importantly, our customers," said Hackney.
