Xbox 360 gets rebundle E-mail

The game console wars are hotting up again with the all important holiday season ahead.  Microsoft have fired a new salvo with a new packaging of the Xbox 360 including two free games, Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

Dropping the price, bringing out new configurations and launching Halo 3 upon the gaming world does not seem to be enough pressure from Microsoft against its competitors.

Sony have confirmed the new cheaper 40GB PlayStation 3 will hit the market soon, in PAL territories at least.

Adding the production car racing game Forza Motorsport 2 as well as the comic battle styling of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance to their U.S. bundles, Microsoft are stamping the Xbox 360 as a gaming machine for consideration by holiday consumers.

Both games will appear in bundles for the standard Pro and Elite editions at US$349 and US$449 respectively.

Meanwhile rumours of the demise of the Core Xbox 360 in favour of an Xbox 360 Arcade System continue to flourish.

In essence the rumours point to a US$279 system being release before years end.  This box would be a low end machine featuring no Hard Drive (but with a 256MB memory card), wireless controller and free Xbox Live titles possibly pre-installed.

At this point there has been no confirmation of the system by Microsoft.
