End of month debut for Apple's Leopard? E-mail

It look like Apple may just manage an already-delayed launch of Mac OS X by the end of October.

Both AppleInsider and ThinkSecret say their sources tell them the new operating system should be formally announced towards the end of the month.

Both sites are tipping Friday October 26 as the likely ship date, and AppleInsider says its "Sources have yet to rule out the possibility that Leopard would be accompanied by additional announcements" - though it gives no indication of what they might be.

ThinkSecret also notes that work on the Mac OS X 10.4.11 update is progressing, with another developer build having been released this week. The only known problems are said to involve Civilisation IV and The Sims 2 on PowerPC systems.
