Exinda Networks Appoints New ANZ Country Manager PDF E-mail
Wednesday, 03 October 2007
Exinda Networks, a leading provider of Unified Performance Management (UPM) solutions worldwide, today announced the appointment of Mark Geddes as Australian and New Zealand country manager. He will be responsible for growing the company’s distribution and reseller channel in the region and supporting existing channel partners to fulfill growing customer demand for wide area network (WAN) optimisation and application acceleration solutions. He will be based in Melbourne.
Geddes joins Exinda Networks with more than 20 years of experience in the IT and financial services industries. Geddes was formerly the director of Mobility Solutions for Sybase where he was responsible for revenue generation, marketing and strategic positioning of all Sybase iAnywhere solutions in Australia and New Zealand.

Previously, he spent five years at Telstra in several management roles. He was promoted from group manager for market development to general manager of sales for Wireless Data Sales and Solutions for Telstra Mobile. During this time, he created new channels to market for Telstra’s mobile broadband solutions, introduced the RIM Blackberry solution to Australian business and established the company’s first Australia-wide wireless data sales team.

Geddes has also held management positions with Drake International, Westpac Banking Corporation, AGC Business Finance and General Motors Acceptance Corporation.

“I’m pleased to welcome Mark Geddes to the management team as we enter an exciting new phase in our corporate growth,” said Con Nikolouzakis, chief executive officer of Exinda Networks. “Mark will bring his extensive operational, technical and sales expertise to bear on serving our customers’ needs in Australia and New Zealand. With high and growing demand for our solutions, the ANZ region remains an important market for meeting our aggressive revenue targets.”

Exinda’s Unified Performance Management (UPM) solutions integrate WAN optimisation, application acceleration, application visibility and application response time measurement onto a single appliance for the most comprehensive solution that delivers predictable application performance over corporate WANs. Exinda products are well known for being easy to use and highly affordable.

Key business drivers for the adoption of WAN optimisation and application acceleration technology include the deployment of VoIP networks, data centre and server consolidation projects and migration to MPLS networks.

Earlier this year, Exinda announced the completion of US$6 million in equity funding from OpenView Venture Partners, in order to spearhead both global and regional sales and marketing efforts.
