The Learning Group Appoints Chief Operations Officer E-mail
Tuesday, 02 October 2007
The Learning Group, a specialist Australian e-learning development and services company, has announced the appointment of Janine Trapp as Chief Operations Officer based in Sydney.  The appointment comes at a time as The Learning Group forges adoption of its LearningRoom solution into the North American, Asian and UK markets and confirms its position as the leading custom e-learning provider in Australia.

Trapp joins The Learning Group with over 20 years of learning, instructional design, production and finance experience, gained from both the private and public sector.  She will be responsible for leading The Learning Group’s design and development operations, as well as its foray into a broader range of corporate learning services.

Trapp joins The Learning Group from TACTICS Consulting where she spent over two years in a variety of management roles, including Consulting Services Manager, Performance Technology & Development Manager and Project Manager.  During this time, she held responsibility for the management and development of the Sydney consulting team and worked in a project management and consulting role with the organisation’s corporate and government clients.  She was also involved in the development of new lines of business relating to the adoption of technology in performance support and organisational learning.

Prior, Trapp worked for four years with CBT Systems which was subsequently acquired and rebranded as SmartForce. During her five years with the organisation, she was promoted to Development Director and directed all phases of e-learning development for the Sydney team and managed a team overseeing instructional design, editing, graphic design, software engineering and quality assurance.

Trapp has also worked in multimedia development for Tarragon Training International and in production and finance roles for organisations, including the Sydney Waterboard, Arthur Young, Arthur Andersen, Cinestar, Campbell Todd Productions, and for Film Australia where she was Chief Accountant.

“Janine has a superb track record and reputation in the e-learning industry, including extensive experience with a broad range of content, serving large, global clients as well as Australian-based enterprises and government agencies. Janine’s proven success makes her a great fit for our team and our customers,” said Mickey Clark, Managing Director, The Learning Group.

Trapp is a graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Business degree, a Graduate Diploma in Communications and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management.
