Apple has released the foreshadowed iPhone update featuring support for the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store.Featured Whitepaper
5 Best Practices for Smartphone Support
Within the Store, buttons link to featured songs, top tens, search and download status, and the search feature includes auto-completion. The iPhone can now be connected to a TV via an Apple AV cable to watch videos and photos. The user interface has been refined. Double-clicking the Home button opens favourites list or, when listening to music, the pause/volume/skip/now playing controls. When typing, a double-tap on the space bar inserts full stop (period) and space. Mail attachments such as PDF, image, Word or Excel files can be viewed in landscape format simply by rotating the iPhone. Other minor changes include receiver and speakerphone volume increases, matching alert volume with the ring volume, the ability to turn off EDGE (eg, to help avoid excessive bills when travelling internationally), and the display of the Apple Bluetooth headset's battery level in the status box. The update also delivers security patches for key parts of the iPhone's software - please turn to page two for details. |
