The Brisbane CBD solutions centre will initially employ 40 professionals to serve customers in the region, with particular emphasis on the government, finance and mining sectors, and on enterprise application integration technology. The company expects to add another 50 professional staff in the near future.

"Queensland has a vibrant ICT industry that attracts exceptional talent from across Australia and elsewhere in the region," said Virender Aggarwal, Satyam’s director and senior vice president for APAC–MEIA.

"This creative, energetic talent pool will bolster our capabilities to provide specialized ICT solutions locally and to global customers. With its pro-business initiatives, Queensland has earned its reputation for attracting international ICT organizations like Satyam to establish a presence here."

Satyam's existing Australian centres are located in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. It claims to employ over 800 people in Australia, but only 42 percent are local nationals. The company is keen to talk up its 'good citizen' credentials, pointing to the scholarships it has already offered to 100 "associates" so they may train in India.
