Despite delays in certification of the technology to date, we believe in the potential of WiMAX as a mobile broadband solution and as an efficient platform for delivering content solutions in multicast and broadcast environments. "While Unwired's business has the potential to be very successful, it faces substantial capital requirements and execution risk in expanding its network to deploy WiMAX technology." So let's have a look at some of the announcements coming out of WiMAX world that are likely to make Kerry feel comfortable parting with around $120 million for Unwired. One of the most exciting consumer products previewed at WiMAX World was the Nokia Nseries Internet Tablets, expected to be among the first WiMAX-enabled open Internet devices and expected to ship in 2008. |
