HTC has appointed John Featherstone as managing director, Australia and New Zealand.

Taiwan-based High Tech Computer is the leading supplier of Windows Mobile based devices, many of which are sold under other brand names.

"2007 is a period of transition for HTC, as we're now a couple months into the acquisition of Dopod and a year into opening an office in Australia," said Featherstone.

"We're moving further into the financial sector, offering a strong range of products and mobility solutions, as well as expanding our presence across the Pacific region."

Featherstone previously spent five years with O2 Online Limited in a sales and marketing role.
