The optional Symantec Mobile VPN module allows secure communication with corporate networks and allows administrators to restrict access to policy-compliant devices. "With the rising popularity of mobile devices and the increased volume of information stored on them, PDAs and smartphones are becoming a prime target for financially motivated attacks," said Craig Scroggie, Symantec's senior director of business development for Asia Pacific and Japan. "Just as the threats to PCs and laptops migrated from nuisance attacks to those aimed at accessing personal information and conducting identify theft, these same threats now exist on mobile devices." |
