"It's particularly appealing to those people who are on the fringe areas of the ADSL network," said David Stewart, Managing Director of NetComm. "It will also appeal to renters who have not previously wanted to pay the costs and make the commitment to ADSL. Of course it will also appeal to users in the huge bush market who are still waiting for any form of broadband." The router side of the N3G001 offers few surprises: 802.11g, NAT, WPA2, browser-based configuration and so on. There's also a 10/100 Ethernet port for situations where a DSL or cable modem is available. List price is $A229. Additional 3G products will be announced by Netcomm in due course. |
