CADDIT Pty Ltd Australia today announced their introduction of the VX® CAD/CAM product line to Australia. VX offers Australian OEM Manufacturers, Engineering Groups, Specialty Machine Shops, Mold & Die Manufacturers, Inventors, and other demanding, high-end 3D design applications a new, object-oriented, truly hybrid modeling and manufacture suite. CADDIT will local industry value added local support for all regions in Australia.

The agreement between VX Corporation distributor Akela Noble Technologies Pty Ltd and CADDIT Pty Ltd opens the way in Australian market for this truly “third generation” CAD/CAM software. “VX is, quite simply, the best kept secret here in high-end CAD,” said Ben Decker, director for CADDIT Pty Ltd.

With VX proprietary 3D kernel, an engineer has complete freedom at any point in the design process to work with VX’s state-of-the-art class “A” NURBS-based styling surfaces, or full solid models. Surfaces can be combined or trimmed to solids and vise versa with greater ease than much costlier tools like CATIA®. Curvature, draft, tangency and solid properties can be quickly and visually rendered in real-time. Features can be modified either parametrically, by using VX’s splendid real-time morphing functionality, or by more conventional means. Unlimited undo/redo along with user session recording offers more flexibility.

VX CAD/CAM offers Legacy solid and surface data, either in Parasolid, STEP, IGES or VDA format can be imported and used directly. Models can be output in STL format for rapid prototyping or rapid tooling. Optionally integrated sheet metal, complete mold & die and full multi-axis milling modules help users realize their concepts “from art to part”. Many third-party integrations are also available, linking VX® with solutions like Enovia’s SmarTeam PDM or ANSYS® FEA, for example. All of this for a fraction of the cost of competing products makes VX one of the most exciting new CAD/CAM products in recent Australian memory.
