The company is replacing the affected batteries at no charge. Details of how to identify an affected computer or accessory battery can be found on Toshiba's web sites (eg, US and Australia). Unlike last September's recall, this issue is safety-related as there is a fire hazard. The cells in the affected batteries were once again made by Sony. "We strongly recommend that customers participate in this new battery pack replacement program as soon as possible," said Toshiba officials. |
