Kleenmaid, Australia's largest direct retailer of kitchen and laundry appliances, has chosen Commander Communications to provide all fixed wire voice and data telecommunication requirements between its new head office in Maroochydore, its data centre in Brisbane and its 34 retail outlets across Australia.

Commander will link all locations with an all IP network over which it will deliver Commander OneStream converged IP VPN; Commander OneStream phone lines and traditional phone lines to retail stores and inbound (1300) services.

OneStream uses MPLS and an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) VoIP softswitch to deliver both voice and data – reducing the cost and complexity associated with delivering these services, and improving response and restoration times.

The roll out of Commander OneStream marks the second stage of Commander's implementation of a full end-to-end IP solution for Kleenmaid. In December 2006, Commander and Nortel installed an integrated Nortel IP PBX and contact centre into Kleenmaid's head office. This included installation of a new Nortel CS1000S PBX system with IP handsets, contact centre software, voicemail and voice recording.{moscomment}
