BioShock shock announcement this Sunday - PS3 version? E-mail

BioShock, the highly anticipated shooter/RPG for the PC and Xbox 360 might have a late surprise for us just prior to its launch,

According to the good folk over at Kotaku , on U.S television (Spike TV) this coming Sunday, we expect to see a final trailer for BioShock, the retro-future-city-underwater horror/shooter/RPG for Xbox 360 and PC

Though it is mere weeks from release (Aug 21 in North America, Aug 24 elsewhere), it seems there are more surprises due for this title.  Either that or the cynics amongst us might think this is just a cash-in on the game hype to get more viewers to Spike TV.

What will the surprise be?  Already speculation is rife, with some (most likely from a disappointed Sony camp) favouring the announcement of a PS3 version.

But it seems that the most likely announcement will be the ability to download plasmids for use in the game.  Plasmids provide the in game character with special abilities, from setting objects on fire, to telekinesis and more.

At this point the Plasmid download theory is for Xbox 360 only.   I guess the safest thing to do is wait and see what happens.  Either way, this game is looking the goods, and may well make it onto many must-have lists shortly after release.
