This month’s iTWire Radioactive gaming wrap focuses on the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Media and Business summit held in Santa Monica California recently. All the big players in the multi-billion dollar gaming industry were there. This year’s E3 was a toned down affair compared to the acres of flashing lights and sounds that barraged attendees in the past. The idea was to focus on the specific company offerings in a controlled business like environment.
I touch on the major announcements from Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo as the battle for gamer’s hearts, minds and wallets. Microsoft dropped the popular Gears of War on to the PC and gave us a look at Rock Band for the Xbox 360. Sony offered up LittleBigPlanet for the PS3 which has had a price reduction for the run-out 60 GB model. There is also a new PlayStation Portable on its way to the market. Meanwhile the sublime Nintendo was light on for software, but showed off the Wii Zapper controller along with the Wii Fit Balance Board giving a whole new meaning to game balance. Click on the link and find out what has had hazardous exposure to the gaming world this month. |
