Exinda Networks Expands Asia Pacific Management Team E-mail
Tuesday, 07 August 2007
Exinda Networks, a leading provider of Unified Performance Management (UPM) solutions worldwide, today announced the appointment of Kenneth Soutar as Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific. Soutar, who will be based in Melbourne, will be responsible for working closely with existing reseller partners and distributors in the sale of wide area network (WAN) optimisation and application acceleration solutions. He will also be responsible for recruiting new partners in the Asia Pacific region.
Soutar joins Exinda Networks with more than 20 years’ experience in the information technology (IT) industry having previously worked for organisations including Citrix Systems, Sigtec, Extreme Networks, 3Com, Datacom and BICC Data Networks.

At Citrix Systems, Soutar was senior enterprise sales manager responsible for the organisation’s Application Networking Group. During that time, he developed the organisation’s partner program, sales pipeline and vertical market focus. Previously, he worked for mobile computing solutions company, Sigtec, as vice president of sales and business development where he developed and managed the company’s base of global reseller channel partners throughout Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

Soutar’s IT career began after 12 years in the British Armed Forces where he trained initially as an Electronics Engineer and progressed to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

“We are delighted that Kenneth is joining Exinda’s team of seasoned professionals during this period of tremendous growth,” said Con Nikolouzakis, Exinda’s chief executive officer. “With his proven track record in managing channel operations, I am confident he will be successful in working with our channel partners to fulfill growing demand for our affordable, simple and effective WAN optimisation solutions.”

Exinda Networks' products are designed to create affordable, predictable and consistent application performance over IP networks. According to IDC's Worldwide WAN Delivery Forecast and Analysis report, worldwide revenue for WAN delivery revenue will reach US$750 million with a compounded annual growth rate of 9.3 percent in 2007. Key business drivers for the adoption of WAN optimisation and application acceleration technology include the deployment of VoIP networks, data centre and server consolidation projects and migration to MPLS networks.

Earlier this year, Exinda announced the completion of US$6 million in equity funding from OpenView Venture Partners, in order to spearhead both global and regional sales and marketing efforts.
