Designed for corporate and small to medium business users, Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited Information Systems Division (ISD) today released its latest range of high powered business notebooks. The Tecra, Portégé and Satellite Pro series all provide the latest enhancements in performance, stability and security, and feature the new Intel® Centrino® Pro processor.
Toshiba designed its business range around Intel’s latest Centrino technology, which includes the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the Mobile Intel 965 chipset, the Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link and the Intel Active Management Technology (AMT 2.5). The end result is a business notebook with enhanced performance, longer battery life and expanded wireless connectivity. Toshiba enhanced its EasyGuard technology across the range to ensure even greater security and peace of mind for business users. The shock absorbing design now features protection zones across the sides of the notebooks to better withstand unintended drops. Toshiba also incorporates a three-dimensional accelerometer to help guard the hard disk drive (HDD) against accidental knocks and bumps. Finally, the spill resistant keyboard has been improved to help protect against accidental spills of soft drinks and coffee - an upgrade from the previous protection against water only. “Toshiba takes mobile computing to the next level by providing professionals with a no compromise solution for productivity, whether on the road or in the office,” said Mark Whittard, general manager, Toshiba ISD. “Today’s professionals are constantly on-the-move, making notebook accidents more likely to happen than ever before. Toshiba has engineered its notebooks to withstand everyday spills, knocks and drops, and our business range has achieved among the lowest failure rates in the industry.” Tecra – Performance for the masses The Tecra range has been consolidated down to three notebooks: the Tecra A9, M9 and P5. The Tecra A9 replaces the Tecra A8, whose stringent testing and durable chassis ensure it has the least amount of warranty claims than any other Toshiba notebook. It also features Toshiba’s Sleep and Charge USB port, which allows users to charge compatible electronic devices, such as a mobile phone, whether the system is on or off. The Tecra M9 replaces the Tecra M5 and provides true mobility in a thin and lightweight design. This is the ultimate mobile notebook, featuring up to five times better connection speeds and up to twice the wireless range. The Tecra P5 combines the Tecra S and P series, and is built for corporate and volume accounts in order to maximise return on investment. Both the Tecra M9 and the P5 feature Intel AMT 2.5, which enables network managers to deliver proactive security and enhanced maintenance, minimising user downtime and providing greater mobile efficiency. Portégé M600 – Portability and power in oneThe new Portégé M600 replaces the Portégé M500 with a 13.3-inch widescreen. The Portégé M600 incorporates Intel Turbo Memory, which enhances battery life by reducing the time it takes to boot, launch applications and return from hibernation mode. Weighing in at around 1.89kg and packed with high-end components like greater connectivity and graphics options, the Portégé M600 is the summation of portability, performance and power. Satellite Pro P200 – Business multimedia desktop replacementReplacing the Satellite Pro P100 is the Satellite Pro P200. This has dedicated graphics for demanding business graphic applications (such as auto cad or professional photography), and greater connectivity for more flexibility on-the-go.
