Electronic Arts, arguably the biggest producer of gaming titles in the world, has given us a taste of things to come. The vast majority are expansions to familiar and successful franchises, but there are some tantalising tit-bits as well. Wii and fans of Mobile games will be happy.

Showcasing the rest of the years offerings from the software behemoth is a case of sifting through the 08 versions of sporting franchises, the inevitable Sims expansions and movie tie ins, to get to the real meat and potatoes of new IP. In particular Boogie, Army of Two, Crysis and The Orange Box (Valve’s bundling of Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2) will be the ones catching the critics eye. EA have also focused on bringing their experiences to the Mobile and Nintendo Wii platforms. “In the next six months, EA will launch the most exciting line up of games in our 25 year history,” said EA Games Label President Frank Gibeau. “We’re publishing brand new games like Boogie, Skate and Army of Two, introducing Rock Band and The Simpsons and delivering innovations in blockbuster franchises like Medal of Honor and Need for Speed.” The full list of upcoming games with descriptions follows on the next pages, including the games highlighted by EA |
