VeCommerce Announces New Staff Appointments Citing Strong Growth in Speech Recognition E-mail

VeCommerce, one of the world’s leading innovators in the provision of voice self-service and speaker verification solutions, has announced four new Australian-based senior staff appointments as the company continues to service increased demand for its market-leading solutions.
David Large has been appointed Southern Region Manager based in Melbourne and will be responsible for growing VeCommerce’s market footprint in this important market as well as supporting the company’s existing customer and partner base.  
 
David joins VeCommerce following six years of experience selling speech solutions as Managing Director EMEA for TuVox, based in the UK.  During this time, he established a European presence for TuVox and won the company’s first major international deals, including, British Airways. Previously, he was Business Development Director for speech specialist, Fluency Voice Technology. During his five years with the company, he secured major sales in the banking and financial services sector for organisations including Standard Life Bank, Royal Mail, Barclays Bank, and Legal and General.

Jerry Gulpers has joined VeCommerce in the role of Business Development Manager. Jerry brings significant contact centre and speech recognition industry experience to VeCommerce having previously held the role of General Manager Sales, Account Wagering at Tabcorp. In this position, he was responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of a 2000 port VeBet speech recognition application as well as a 1000-person multi-site integrated contact centre.
 
Jerry will assist VeCommerce with key strategic clients in Australia and, in recognition of his wagering expertise, is also tasked with growing the company’s Australian and international wagering and gaming client base.
 
VeCommerce has also strengthened its consulting team with the appointment of Steve Duke as Senior Business Consultant based in Sydney.  Duke joins the company from TuVox Australia/New Zealand where he was Solution Delivery Manager and was instrumental in developing Telecom New Zealand as TuVox's first local reference customer. Prior, Steve worked at Dimension Data and was closely involved in winning major speech solutions at Optus and Vodafone. He has also been extensively involved in speech recognition solution implementations at major financial services organisations including Commonwealth Bank, ASB Bank and GIO.
 
In addition, Fiona Bowyer has been appointed VeCommerce’s Finance and Administration Manager and will be responsible for overseeing commercial agreements with customers and suppliers, managing property related issues for the company’s operations in Australia, New Zealand, the US and UK, and driving company-wide budgeting and forecasting as well as reporting to Salmat, VeCommerce’s parent company.
 
Previously, Bowyer was Financial Analyst for Targeted Media and Corporate Accountant for the Salmat Group.  She has also worked for ntl Australia as Commercial and Pricing Analyst and in various other management accounting roles with NRMA.  Bowyer is a Professional Certified Accountant.
