T-Mobile to take iPhone to Germany? E-mail

The iPhone may be available in Germany through T-Mobile before Christmas.

According to German newspaper Rheinische Post, T-Mobile will start selling the iPhone on November 1 for around €450.

The mooted price is extremely close to that charged in the US, but no indication was given of the likely service charges.

No source was identified, and T-Mobile declined Rheinische Post's request for comment.

T-Mobile was the first German carrier to provide EDGE data services, as used by the iPhone when out of Wi-Fi range.

Vodafone had previously been tipped to secure exclusive European rights to sell Apple's new phone, but the assumption was that this would be in conjunction with the release of a 3G model. T-Mobile also operates a 3G network.
