BlackBerry sponsors South Sydney Rabbitohs E-mail

Research in Motion, developer of the BlackBerry has become a sponsor of the South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League club and a provider of 'intra-club' communications for players, coaching staff and management using the handheld devices.

The Rabbitohs claims to be the first sporting Club in Australia to embrace th BlackBerry throughout its organisation and, according to CEO Shane Richardson, "This partnership with BlackBerry will make us the most organised and efficient club in Australia."

Paul Osmond, RIM's vice president sales Asia Pacific, said: "Our fit with the Rabbitohs is intended to go beyond a simple sponsorship...The BlackBerry solution will be utilised by the Rabbitohs to enhance their communication methods and communication abilities internally, externally and with their fan base. Over time we will look to explore the wireless application abilities of the BlackBerry into other areas of the Rabbitohs' organisation."{moscomment}
