What is “DXX ready” / PCI Express 2.0? PCI Express 2.0 was announced on January 15th by the PCI-SIG, an industry group of currently more than 850 companies like AMD, Broadcom, HP, IBM, Intel, LSI Logic, Microsoft and nVIDIA. It defines the standards for the next generation of motherboards and graphic cards, commonly dubbed as DirectX 10 capable. This new architecture effectively boosts their performance and utilization compared to their DirectX 9 / PCIe 1.0 predecessors enormously and requires a new 8p connector.
