THQ has announced that the dark future of war in the 41st millennium will be arriving on Nintendo DS and Sony PSP.  Warhammer 40,000:Squad Command is set to release later in the year.

It only seems like yesterday when I was hooked into the Warhammer 40K tabletop gaming universe, it was actually 1989.  Now THQ bring the turn-based feel of that original hobby to the electronic hand-held platform.

Aiming for a southern spring release, Warhammer 40,000:Squad Command will see the ‘slightly evil’ Imperium of Man battle it out against the ‘even more evil’ forces of Chaos in both single-player and multiplayer versions.

To be specific, single-players can run a chapter of the super augmented space marines (Ultramarines) through 13 missions against their mutated former brethren.

Multiplayer will let allow opponents worldwide to compete in a mission chosen from a pool of nine.  THQ and Vigil Games assure us that the respective features of the DS (Dual screen with touch) and the Play Station Portable (ummmmm!) will be used full extent in this title.
