Page 2 of 2 On the plus side, graphics capabilities are well handled by NVIDIA’s GeForce 8600M GT graphics card, offering much better performance than the integrated Intel graphics card as found on the MacBook, especially for 3D applications, design, animation and games. The rest of the Apple inclusions are all here, from iSight to the Magsafe Power Adapter, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Gigabit Etherhet, Firewire 800 and 400, USB, the backlit illuminated keyboard, an ExpressCard/34 expansion card slot, the Apple Remote, a DVI video output to connect up to a 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display, as well as iLife ’06 and Mac OS X 10.4.9 Tiger and more. The 2.2Ghz 15-inch MacBook Pro will retail for US $1999 with 2GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive, the 2.4Ghz 15-inch MacBook Pro with 2GB and a 160GB hard drive is US $2499 and the 2.4Ghz 17-inch MacBook Pro with 2GB and 160GB hard drive is $2,799. Options to expand to 4GB of memory, a hard disk up to 250GB in size and others are all available at the Apple Store and, as you’d expect, push the price up. There’s still talk of other new products to be unveiled at next week’s WWDC, but precisely what these will be beyond rumors of a Mac Tablet or more iPhone demonstrations and an iPhone SDK (software developer kit) for third party software developers, along with much more information on Mac OS X 10.5 for developers is expected. {moscomment}
