iTunes 7.2 gets a Plus for DRM-free downloads E-mail

iTunes 7.2 allows the preview and purchase of iTunes Plus music - Apple's branding for the higher quality and DRM-free tracks from EMI and (hopefully soon) other labels.

Available for Mac OS X and Windows, there's no indication that the new software has any other changes.

According to the help for the new version, "The first time you buy an iTunes Plus song, you specify whether to make all future purchases iTunes Plus versions (when available). You can change this setting by accessing your account information on the iTunes Store."

The iTunes Store is said to provide an upgrade path for previous purchases that are now available as Plus tracks.

iTWire couldn't find any iTunes Plus tracks in the store, but there's still one more day to go before Apple's self-imposed May deadline passes.{moscomment}
