Actually, it’s not the iGasm they’re worried about, but their familiar looking ‘silhouette styled’ with a woman in a seductive pose seen with cables that aren’t placed anywhere near the ear canal.

UK publication ‘News of the World’ has reported that the Ann Summers sex toy store has received a letter requesting they stop using an ad promoting the iGasm as it looks too similar to Apple’s own advertising.

Naturally, the iGasm ad has a twist. Featured in the familiar silouhette style with pink background, it features a woman in a seductively aroused pose, clutching a device that could be an iPod or other mp3 player, with cables placed as you might imagine.

The iGasm retails for £30, connects to an iPod and vibrates to the beat of the music, putting a jukebox worth of pleasurably different musical interludes of various intensities in your pocket in addition to your music collection, and is but one of a number of similar devices on the market.

Part of the iGasm marketing includes instructions to “Go at it hard and fast with a pounding drum 'n' bass track or chill with ambient classic.”

The ad was noticed by Apple, who set their lawyers onto the task of writing a letter requesting the Ann Summers chain to stop using the ad, saying “We hope this request to remove it immediately will prevent us having to consider further action.”

However the manager of the Ann Summers chain, Jacqueline Gold, is reported by News of the World to have jokingly offered: “Perhaps I can send them an iGasm to put a smile back on their faces!”
