Centennial Software, the developer of asset management and endpoint security solutions, today announced the launch of support for Windows CE-based devices in its multi-award winning Centennial Discovery solution. The addition of this capability will enable network managers and IT staff to extend their current IT asset management and acceptable use policies right across their IT estate, from the largest servers to the smallest PDA and Smartphone devices.

Audit information collected by the new client agents includes the devices’ operating system, attached memory, hardware configuration, software installations and file types.

Howard Waterson, Asia Pacific Regional Manager at Centennial Software, commented: “Organisations are now spending huge sums on equipping staff with mobile devices for which they currently have no way of tracking. While these devices are a business-enabler, it is also important for firms to realise that left unmanaged they can become a real risk.”

Centennial Software has also announced several other enhancements to Centennial Discovery, including support for Intel-based Macintosh computers, the improved recognition of Layer 3 switches and ability to audit Win64-based machines.

It has also announced a time-limited special offer for existing Discovery customers who wish to purchase additional licenses for their Windows CE clients. Customers should contact their Centennial reseller or the vendor directly for more information.
