Bluetooth wireless connections are built into so many phones and laptops these days it certainly does make you wonder why Ericsson recently decided to stop development of the Bluetooth standard. But even though that's happened, the Bluetooth juggernaught keeps rolling along, with improvements to Bluetooth headsets thankfully appearing, making them much longer life, much clearer and technologically improved devices!

Jabra's latest headset, the BT800, is a perfect example. In what is a world first, as far as we are aware, this headset has its own bluelit LCD screen showing you Caller ID and other information such as recent calls which you can initiate from the headset! With Caller ID on the headset itself, you won't need to reach for your phone to see who it is that is calling you – what a great idea!

In addition, it has five of it's own ringtones to choose from, with a very handy a vibrate-with-ring or vibration only mode so you'll know the phone's ringing even if it's in your bag, has fallen under the front seat of your car or is set to silent. Importantly, long battery life of 6 hours talk time and 125 hours of standby means your headset's batteries won't go flat after just a few calls.

A really cool killer feature of this headset is the new Digital Signal Processing (DSP) chip. Whatever the environment, you get to hear the best audio quality possible. DSP's automatic volume control compensates for noisy surroundings by increasing the listening level accordingly. For the people you're talking to, noise cancellation technology means that they can hear you much more clearly than possible with a regular Bluetooth headset. It fits either ear, is light at 25g and for the time being, we think it's the best Bluetooth headset on the market!
