Page 1 of 2 The deal has been viewed favourably by market analyst, Ovum. Jan Dawson, Ovum VP of US enterprise practice, said: "Verizon Business (and other global providers) have lagged behind AT&T in the security space for some time. Although all the major providers have actively pursued the security opportunity, none has been able to tell as convincing a story, especially around network-based security, as AT&T." Cybertrust has 800 employees and operations in 30 locations across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. Its services include identity management, managed security services, vulnerability/threat management, security certification programs and a range of professional services including enterprise-wide quantified risk analysis, individual application assessments, and forensics and incident response services. The company operates security operation centres in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific for "follow the sun" approach to security operations. Verizon Business will also acquire ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, which, according to Verizon, "is considered the gold standard of security product certification, and which has tested and certified 95 percent of the installed security products on the market today." |
